So on a whim I decided to check out my okc profile and the messages I’ve been getting even though I’m listed as not looking for anyone.

It’s true that the best messages have something to do with your profile, as if some thought were put into it. That doesn’t make them automatically good though. :-)

Okay, that one’s just funny ‘cuz of the yahoo messenger comment. Who is on that?

…doesn’t think knowing my boyfriend for 2.5 years is very long.

…is somewhat open to the idea of setting me up with a family friend’s son, because his mom is worried about the girl he’s dating because she’s from mainland China.

…doesn’t think Office Spouse is good enough for me, even though he hasn’t met him.

…has confused my boyfriend’s name with my sister’s fiance’s name several times over the course of this phone conversation.

Another year, another Valentine’s Day. Also means I’ve been dating Office Spouse for another year-ish. I don’t actually know when our “anniversary” is. Not for lack of trying…it’s just that was it the weekend I snowed myself into his house? Was it our first date after the snow weekend? Was it when I went exclusive with him? I should probably pick a day sometime so that it can be artificially celebrated too, huh.

Anyway, yes, two years.  That’s crazy! Time has also been flying by. Even in my most boring past relationships that seemed to be long-term and last forever, I’ve never gotten past a continuous 15 months. Has the time been passing without notice because

a) this relationship is a good one

b) I’m just older and time matters less and omg is this job the rest of my life?!

c) this relationship isn’t a good one, and things are just so neutral that I don’t even realize I’m in one?

I think I’ll go with a combination of (a) and (b). (c) is way harsh, Tai.

This weekend OS will meet my other sister and he was supposed to meet the parents too but they just bailed.  I’d say I’m relieved, ‘cuz I never really truly want to see my parents, but I was hoping to get this whole first meeting out of the way. Even I think 2 years is a long time.  Not obscenely long, and I don’t think much of it, but, well, this relationship can’t really go anywhere if I don’t know how he and my parents (read: Dad) get along. Will he be the one to calm the beast? Will they become mortal enemies?  Does it really matter to me? (Probably more than I’m willing to admit. But I won’t know until it really happens.)

Questions unanswered in the forseeable future.
